If you’re dreaming of a wedding surrounded by lush gardens, mountain views, and Colorado’s signature easygoing charm, Lyons, Colorado is one of the most magical places you can say “I do.” As a longtime Colorado wedding photographer, I’ve photographed countless celebrations here — from intimate summer garden weddings to relaxed creekside ceremonies — and Lyons continues to be one of my favorite places to work.
Below, you’ll find information on the best Lyons Colorado wedding venues, complete with photos and insight from real weddings I’ve photographed. Or, see my wedding portfolio for more examples of my work.
Why Couples Love Getting Married at Lyons Colorado Wedding Venues

Lyons sits right where the plains meet the Rocky Mountains, giving couples the perfect blend of convenience and wild-Colorado beauty. Couples love Lyons because:
- It’s only minutes from Longmont and an easy drive from Boulder. Denver isn’t too bad either.
- Out-of-town guests have many hotel options nearby.
- The scenery is stunning — think sandstone cliffs, riverfront views, cottonwood trees, and flower-filled gardens.
- The vibe is relaxed, artistic, and a little whimsical.
- Lyons Coloado wedding venues allow couples to personalize everything — ceremony locations, layout, décor, and flow of the day.
Whether you’re planning a garden party wedding or a laid-back farm celebration, one of the Lyons Colorado weddings venues is for you.

1. The Lyons Farmette
The Lyons Farmette is one of the most iconic and loved venues in Colorado — and one of my personal favorites to photograph.
This working flower farm offers endless backdrops:
- Rows of dahlias and zinnias
- Farm animals
- Vintage tractors
- Asprawling old tree perfect for ceremonies
- The river and creekside areas
- Twinkle lights and cozy gathering spaces
Couples can truly make the Farmette their own. I’ve photographed weddings here where couples:
- Married under the huge tree
- Dined under café lights
- Held portraits among the flowers
- Celebrated beside the old Airstream
- Ate dinner at long farmhouse tables
- Had heartwarming, emotional ceremonies by the creek
Every wedding at the Farmette feels unique — charming, joyful, colorful, and relaxed.
If you’re dreaming of a colorful, joyful, garden-inspired celebration surrounded by flowers and nature, the Lyons Farmette is a truly magical venue.

2. Planet Bluegrass
Planet Bluegrass is a dream location for couples who want dramatic canyon views and riverfront scenery with a fun, festival-style energy.
This venue is best known for its music events, so getting a wedding date can be competitive. But if you’re able to book it, you’re rewarded with one of the most unique wedding backdrops in Colorado.
What couples love about Planet Bluegrass:
- Iconic red rock wall – the towering rock face behind the ceremony and cocktail spaces makes every angle look cinematic.
- The silo + stage – both are recognizable features that give your wedding a sense of place and personality.
- Riverside atmosphere – there’s a beachy stretch by the river, grassy lawn areas, and plenty of room for guests to wander and explore.
- Room for activities – couples often add croquet, yard games, or other little outdoor experiences during cocktail hour, and guests absolutely love it.
In the evenings, Planet Bluegrass can feel especially magical: café lights glowing, music drifting through the air, the rock wall turning richer in color as the light changes.
A few things to keep in mind:
- It can get cool in the evenings, especially in late September and early October, so it’s smart to mention layers or wraps on your invitations.
- Because the property is spacious and there’s so much happening, many couples choose more coverage (or a second photographer) to capture guests enjoying all the different spaces and activities.
If you love live music, river views, and the idea of your wedding feeling like an elevated outdoor festival, Planet Bluegrass is an incredible choice.

3. Lionscrest Manor
Perched on a hillside above Lyons, Lionscrest Manor combines sweeping views with classic Colorado elegance.
From the moment you drive up, the property feels like a private mountain estate. Couples are drawn to:
- The ceremony lawn – it overlooks the foothills and gives you a beautiful mountain backdrop for your vows.
- The fountain and staircase – the front of the manor offers a romantic, almost European feel that’s perfect for first looks, portraits, and evening photos.
- Multiple levels for photos – the second story balcony above the dance floor creates unique angles for your first dance, toasts, and reception moments.
- Little hidden spots – from the “shed” on the property to pathways and rocky outcroppings, there are so many places to sneak away for a few portraits.
The terrain around Lionscrest includes some rocky areas and hills, which photograph beautifully but can be uneven underfoot. Many brides bring a second pair of shoes or sturdy flats for moving around during portraits.
Lionscrest works especially well for couples who:
- Want mountain views but also love the idea of a formal indoor reception space.
- Prefer to have most of the day in one place rather than shuttling between locations.
- Like a mix of classic, elegant details and natural, Colorado scenery.
If you’re picturing a scenic mountain view wedding with elegant indoor spaces and a classic manor atmosphere, Lionscrest Manor is the perfect wedding venue for you.

4. River Bend
River Bend is one of Lyons’ most magical places to get married — a tucked-away riverfront venue with dramatic red canyon walls, cottonwood trees, and a peaceful, nature-filled atmosphere. It manages to feel both romantic and down-to-earth, which is part of why so many couples fall in love with it immediately.
What makes River Bend special
Couples love River Bend because it offers:
- The iconic red rock cliff rising behind the ceremony space
- A private stretch of the St. Vrain River for portraits and guest mingling
- Shaded pathways, trees, and natural textures everywhere you look
- Open lawn space for ceremonies, cocktail hour, and lawn games
- A flexible, choose-your-own-flow layout where each wedding feels different
- A calm, peaceful vibe even when you have a full guest list
Everywhere you turn, the landscape gives you beautiful color, texture, and depth — warm rock tones, flowing water, soft grasses, and tree canopies that filter the light in the prettiest way.
It’s the type of venue where your guests feel like they’ve stepped into a little nature sanctuary… but still get to enjoy great food trucks, cocktails, and dancing under the stars.
If you love the idea of a romantic, riverside wedding with warm red rock views and a relaxed Colorado feel, River Bend offers an unforgettable setting.
